The new VinylPlus Progress Report 2026 confirms that 41,001 tonnes of PVC pipes were recycled in 2025 within the VinylPlus framework – an increase of around 22.5% compared with 2024.

The figure comes at a challenging time for Europe’s plastics recycling sector, where low-priced imports, weak demand and economic pressure continue to affect recyclers. Despite these conditions, PVC recycling has shown resilience, supported by established collection and recycling value chains.

For VinylPlus Pipes, the 2025 figure underlines the continued circular potential of PVC pipe systems. Thanks to their long service life, recyclability and established recycling routes, PVC pipes contribute to resource efficiency. PVC can also be recycled multiple times while retaining its core properties, helping keep valuable material in use across several life cycles.

The progress also highlights the need for continued investment in collection, sorting and recycling systems, as well as coherent European policies that keep valuable materials in the circular economy.
